Sandy is passionate about mental health and strongly believes that every person has an inherent right to feel valued, understood, supported, and at peace with their lives. She has a vibrant and holistic approach to therapy and really enjoys empowering people with the skills and resources they need to tackle life’s challenges. She connects well with clients from a variety of backgrounds, and displays a non-judgmental support for people, helping them work on the issues they feel most important.
Skills
Sandy has experience working with all ages across the lifespan in addressing issues such as chronic and acute depression, anxiety, personality disorders, chronic mental illness such as Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, rumination, grief, aggression, substance use, and stress associated with adjustment. Sandy is also a BACB Registered Behaviour Therapist. She has experience in working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to develop and implement behaviour intervention programs. Her therapy is based on an Applied Behavioural Analysis framework and works in collaboration with families and teachers to provide effective treatment and meet client and environmental needs.
Therapeutic Approaches
Sandy combines evidence-based approaches into her practice and draws from a range of therapies to suit the individual client needs. These therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness.
